Jamie Moore will join Oliver Harrison in Martin Murray's corner this Saturday. Here is a look back at when the pair sparred each other back in 2013.

Jamie Moore will be alongside Oliver Harrison in Martin Murray's corner in Monte Carlo.

The former European super-welterweight champion has joined forces with his old trainer ahead of Murray's fight with Dmitrii Chudinov, live on Sky Sports.

As a fighter, Moore was trained by Harrison and shared the gym with the super-middleweight world title challenger and believes him helping his friends out will bring a new lease of life to the team.

"I've know Martin for a long time and he's at that stage of his career where motivation can become a factor," Moore told Sky Sports.

"We get on really well and Oliver decided to have a fresh voice in the corner, just to freshen it all up. I jumped at the chance and thought - and now know - it was a great idea.

"I remember when I had got past 30 and motivation was a real factor, so from that perspective I know what Martin is going through.

"It has worked well. He's got a spring in his step and he's been sparring really well and I think he's going to put on a cracking performance."

Murray is on the same card as fellow Brits Jamie McDonnell, who is defending his WBA bantamweight title, and Stephen Smith, who is challenging for a super-bantamweight strap for the second time.

Oliver did so much for me as a fighter and Martin helped me out loads when it came to being a gym-mate, so I am proud to be part of this. And even if this was not Monaco, in say a leisure centre on the outskirts of Manchester, I would still have jumped at the chance.

The St Helens man was expecting to fight former foe Arthur Abraham in an official eliminator for the WBO super-middleweight belt they fought for in November 2015.

Abraham was forced to pull out of the fight last month after injuring an elbow in sparring but despite the late change in opponent, Murray is still looking to get another world title attempt.

Moore, who was a sparring partner for Murray ahead of his WBC middleweight title challenge against Sergio Martinez back in 2013, admits the 30-year-old needs to do more than just beat Chudinov on Saturday night to push himself back up the rankings.

"Matin wants a fifth crack and on the back of the loss to George Groves, he knows he has to put on a performance in Monaco, never mind win," Moore said.

"If he doesn't and certainly if he loses, that will be it for him. But when fighters are in situations like that and still have that desire, they are dangerous.

"I think Oliver wanted to see if Martin's still got the desire and he has. And you can just get used to the same voice, saying the same things over and over.

George Groves won a unanimous points decision over Martin Murray in an exciting contest which saw both fighters hurt.

"When it comes to trainers, me and Oliver are definitely on the same page. He is the main man, so it's not going to be me saying something different, it's just when it comes from someone different, you take it on board differently.

"Oliver did so much for me as a fighter and Martin helped me out loads when it came to being a gym-mate, so I am proud to be part of this.

"And even if this was not Monaco, in say a leisure centre on the outskirts of Manchester, I would still have jumped at the chance."
