Kell Brook has told Amir Khan to front up and finally sign a deal for them to meet in the ring next year.

The IBF world welterweight champion (36-1 KO25) is back in the gym after failing in his quest to dethrone middleweight king Gennady Golovkin at The O2 in September.

The 30-year-old, who sustained a fractured right eye socket in the fifth-round stoppage loss to GGG, recently urged his long-time rival to "step up to the plate" after Khan (31-4 KO19) made it clear an all-British showdown would only happen at welterweight.

Brook says he is eager for the talking to stop, calling the 29-year-old "Amir Khandashian" in reference to the TV celebrity family, and suggested his focus could switch to the other champions in the 147lbs division.

"With got some big names, Amir Khandashian, he's still there," Brook told Sky Sports News HQ

"People are talking about us fighting, he's said he wants to have that fight and like I have said, I'll meet him at welterweight if he actually wants to get in and stop talking about it.

Pacquiao (59-6-2 KO38) returned from a seven-month hiatus to claim the WBO belt for the third time in his illustrious career on Saturday, defeating Jessie Vargas via a unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

When asked about the prospect of taking on the multi-weight world champion, Brook said: "I'd love that. I heard that I inspired him during the Golovkin fight and it makes sense for us to unify the division at welterweight."

Floyd Mayweather watched from ringside as Pacquiao secured victory and Brook believes the unbeaten American, who took his unblemished record to 49-0 by outpointing Andre Berto in September last year, could come out of retirement.

"I can definitely see him coming back. He's not training and being at these fights for no reason, he's going to come back, and he's just biding his time," he added.

"I am just excited and privileged I am a champion amongst those names in the welterweight division, my name and profile has risen quite highly after the Golovkin fight.

"I am looking forward to training hard and hopefully a big massive name will come along again."
