Anthony Crolla believes Saturday's WBA world lightweight title defence against Jorge Linares will provide "a bit of everything."

The personable 29-year-old (31-4-3-KO13) will enjoy the vast majority of support at the Manchester Arena - live on Sky Sports - but knows he'll have to cope with all sorts of tactics from three-weight world champion Linares (40-3-KO27).

'Million Dollar' told Sky Sports News HQ: "I think you're going to see a bit of everything - a chess match at times and a big of a brawling slugfest at times.

"I think it'll be down to who can make the opponent do what they don't want to do at that moment in time. I'm prepared to do Plan A, Plan B and Plan C.

"Certainly of late, the shots to the body have been kind to us. It's certainly part of my game but that's not something I'll be looking for straight away because he's got a great team around him and they'll have studied me.

"I have got to be patient but it's a very different fight to Ismael Barroso. Linares will be much smarter so I can't be too patient. I've got to stamp my authority and gain that little bit respect from him early on."

Earlier in fight week, Sky Sports pundit Dave Coldwell says the occasion has shades of Ricky Hatton's legendary victory over Kostya Tszyu in June 2005 - a comparison that has left Crolla beaming.

The champion said: "It means that much to me. They always say there's only one Ricky Hatton and there always will be. That was not only one of the greatest nights in Manchester boxing but in British boxing so it's great to even be compared means an awful lot.

"Win on Saturday and it'll be put me on the big, big stage, which is something I really want. I'm going to be that superstar."
