Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank became embroiled in a Twitter exchange over the possibility of a rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.
WBO world middleweight champion, Saunders (23-0-KO12), has not fought since relieving Andy Lee of the title in December 2015, but says he is open to renewing his rivalry with British champion Eubank Jr (23-1-KO18).
Eubank Sr, who watched his son suffer a split decision defeat to the Hatfield fighter in November 2014, said via his social media page: "Eubank Jr will no longer be charitable. This is why Billy Joe Saunders is likely to give up boxing for track & field #run."
Saunders replied: "Chris Eubank you know you cost your son a lot of cash from my fight and GGG and it's hit home you messed up. I don't think anyone will work with you."
Then came the challenge from Eubank, who demanded: "So long as you keep your word and don't prove the people calling you a coward right. You young man are good to go."
Saunders retorted once again - this time with a financial offer. He said: "Ok 80/20 suit you? As I hold the cards. In boxing you don't go back after success - you go forward but if you want an 80/20 split then it's on."
Both Saunders and Eubank Jr had held talks to fight the 160lb-division's ruler, Gennady Golovkin, only for the Kazakh to sensationally agree a clash with IBF welterweight king Kell Brook on September 10.
