Nathan Cleverly is ready to write the best chapter of his boxing career when he finally takes on Juergen Braehmer.
The Welshman will take on the WBA world light-heavyweight champion in Neubrandenburg, Germany, on October 1, live on Sky Sports.
Cleverly (29-3-KO15) has seen two Braehmer fights fall through in the last five years but after taking on Andrzej Fonfara in one of 2015's fights of the year, is ready to return to the top level and win a second world title.
"He's finally decided to take me on and it's my opportunity to become a two-time world champion, so it's going to be a great fight and a great opportunity," Cleverly told Sky Sports News HQ.
"I am looking forward to it. I feel refreshed and invigorated, ready to strike again on the world scene, get that world title back and push on, then make this my best chapter yet."
Cleverly was due to fight Braehmer in May 2011 in his first defence of the WBO light-heavyweight title, only for the German to pull out days before the fight.
It led to Cleverly beating bitter British rival Tony Bellew five months later only to lose his title to Sergey Kovalev four fights later and then be beaten by 'Bomber' at cruiserweight.
During that difficult time the Cefn Fforest fighter with a degree in maths was supposed to challenge Braehmer for his WBA world strap, only for injury to force him to withdraw.
But even though it has taken five years to finally get it on, Cleverly is already in confident mood.
"Sometimes in life things are meant to happen and meant to be and this is one of those occasions when, for myself and Braehmer, it's the right time," he said.
"He's a reigning world champion for the second time and we were meant to fight twice in the past but it's third time lucky now we've finally get the challenge on.
He's finally decided to take me on and it's my opportunity to become a two-time world champion, so it's going to be a great fight and a great opportunity. I am looking forward to it."
