Amir Khan maintains he can defy the odds and defeat Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in their world title showdown in Las Vegas in May.

Khan is moving up two weight classes to fight for the 25-year-old's WBC middleweight title, at a catchweight of 155lb, and is confident he can inflict only a second professional defeat on the Mexican fighter.

Former two-time world champion Khan said: "I've been in training camp for the past six weeks doing strength and conditioning.

Amir Khan says he's not worried about stepping up two weight divisions to challenge Saul Canelo Alvarez for his WBC middleweight title.

"I felt really strong, too big for my weight class, and I've been killing myself trying to come down in weight. Maybe it turns out that Amir Khan is meant to be a middleweight.

"This is a great opportunity for the world title up against a great fighter. I am ready, and I believe in myself.
