New IBF world heavyweight champion Charles Martin is ready to provide 'entertainment value' to fans, says his manager.
The towering American (23-0-1-KO21) won the vacant belt when Vyacheslav Glazkov hobbled out of their clash with a serious knee injury but Martin's manager Mike Borao is adamant the Ukrainian would not have lasted the distance.
Borao told World Boxing News: "We are very happy with the win, but to be honest, I think Glazkov felt the power in round one.
"What you have to understand is that it's very different actually being in the ring with Charles, and in my judgment, it was just a matter of time.
"Charles gets stronger as the rounds go on and Glazkov didn't have the firepower to keep Charles off and survive 12 rounds. Having said that, it would have been great to get the stoppage but Charles will have plenty of opportunities to demonstrate all his abilities.
"It would have been great to get a clean knockout, but we got a third-round stoppage and Charles is the new champion.
"Charles wants to give the crowd an exciting show, so the next opponent will likely be someone that likes to engage and that will provide entertainment value for the audience."
Martin, 29, is already being linked to unification bouts with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, although both are negotiating to first fulfil mandatory duties by fighting Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin respectively.
